A continuation of lesson 1…

This was my view from Wednesday evening through Friday morning. Unfortunately I managed to come down with the stomach flu. It was tough, but I’m back to 100% now. Dan is also sick, but seems to have a much milder version than I did. Thankfully he’s recovering well. I’m grateful for all the wonderful things we saw in Paris and now I am anxious to go back and visit again!

Our train trip from Paris to Barcelona was interesting. About two hours into the six hour trip the air conditioning quit. Before long it was unbearable. Eventually there was an announcement that we would be getting off this train and onto another because of the malfunction. 

Before long all the passengers in the train were out on the platform waiting for the replacement train to arrive. When the new train arrived we were confused by the fact that passengers were unloaded from the new train and then directed onto the train we had left. Within a few minutes all the passengers had swapped trains and we were all on our way. I’m sure the passengers that switched to our initial train were pretty disappointed! Dan and I had a very comfortable, air conditioned ride the rest of the way to Barcelona. 

In Barcelona we found Claire and Eliza! We’re excited to have a few days of site seeing before we make our way to the beginning of the Camino. Once again I’ve been reminded that there is little in life that we can truly control. Managing the unpredictable twists and turns can be a challenge. Finding a growth mindset helps.
